Patient compliance is essential to producing a high quality, diagnostic stress echo exam. This requires careful instructions to a relaxed, unintimidated, confident patient. In view of this, we designed our stress echo beds to have a comfortable "furniture" appearance and attempted to avoid the threatening high-tech "ER" look. Incorporated into this design are the features that the buyer defines. The bed is then hand-crafted specifically for that order. We try to deliver all our beds personally, to install them in place and to demonstrate that each component is performing as expected. Because we do only minimal advertising and employ no sales force, our prices remain low.

The bed's framework is a solidly constructed I-Beam that is heavy enough to provide a motion-resistant platform during a patient's exercise. This design accommodates very active (and heavy) patients without the annoying wobbling and rattling characteristic of some beds that utilize a single central columnar support. Head elevation and left-sided tilt are controlled by foot pedals.

This German-made eddy-current ergometer is reliable, precise and easy to use. Its workload is rpm-independent and has been designed with daily routine requirements in mind. Without expensive technical gimmicks it provides all the functions required for rapid and efficient examinations. The ergometer is easily removed within seconds to provide an ideal bed for post treadmill exercise imaging and rest echo exams. This ergometer may be used on the floor as an upright stationary exercise bike.
Features of the SBSS 1000 Exercise Bed for Stress Echocardiography

patient support cushion, color-matched to the bed.
- Ergometers: Eddy-current
- Framework is solidly constructed (I-Beam) to withstand heavy use.
It is heavy enough to provide a motion-resistant (no shaking or rattling)
platform during the exercise portion of an exam.
- Surfaces are finished in a durable, washable laminate (ivory).
- Mattress: 3" fire retardant medium density
foam provides stability and comfort for the patient.
- Upholstery is wear, stain and bacteria resistant vinyl
(choice of 84 colors) that meets flammability
requirements.
- Casters: 4" heavy duty, swivel, locking.
- Paper roll sheet holder. Quick, easy, out of sight.
- Handgrips: to provide stability to the pedaling patient and to provide
some isometric exercise, which increases blood pressure response.
- Safety belt to secure patient while table is tilted to the side.
- Imaging access (mattress cutout): to enable
access to apical views when the patient is in left lateral decubitus.
Its unique design is more comfortable for patient and for the sonographer's
arm. Optional configurations available.
- Left lateral tilt and head elevation movements are controlled by
foot pedal, so the technologist does not need to remove his hands
from the transducer or the control panel.
- Dimensions: approx. 30" wide, 31" high, 84" long.
Bed dimensions can be altered (within reason) to suit your needs.
- Mattress insert: used to replace the space left by the ergometer
when it is removed for other exams.
- Meets requirements of the Standard
for Medical Electrical Equipment UL2601-1 Second Edition.
- When manufacturing demands allow, we will deliver each SBSS 1000 exercise bed, set it up in your lab and demonstrate that each component works perfectly. Otherwise the bed is shipped in a heavy plywood create, fully assembled and ready to use.
